Blitz participants should be current bat researchers, researchers or managers hoping to gain experience, and students interested in gaining bat sampling experience in the field. Ideal participants are rabies vaccinated and able to assist with netting activities, however all managers/biologists/students/professionals with an interest in gaining bat sampling experience and connecting with regional bat researchers are welcome to join.

Please note that the standard Student and Professional selection include double occupancy accommodations during the Blitz. We pay all of our vendors in advance of the blitz, so we cannot provide refunds once you have registered. If you are intending to handle bats during the blitz, you will be prompted by this form to upload a current rabies titre check (less than 2 years old) or proof of rabies vaccination.

Do you understand and acknowledge that when working within six-feet of bats and other wildlife that you are required to wear an N-95, valve-free mask? N-95 masks will be provided at blitz headquarters.(Required)

Have you completed the full rabies vaccination series? All participants that desire to handle bats and/or other wildlife encountered must have completed a rabies pre-exposure prophylaxis series and have a current (within 2 years) rabies antibody titer check prior to arriving at Blitz headquarters.(Required)

If rabies vaccinated, when were you vaccinated or when was your last titer test that provided a proof-of-immunity serology report that met the World Health Organization standards of adequate immunity for wildlife handlers: (1) rabies virus neutralizing antibodies standard of ≥ 0.5 International Units per milliliter (0.5 IU/ML); or (2) complete neutralization at a serum dilution in the 1:5 serum dilution Rapid Fluorescent Foci Inhibition Test (RFFIT)?
